Your Dream Space, Simplified — Introducing Our New Digital Design Toolkits

Have you ever stood in the middle of your living room, wishing for a fresh, cohesive design to come to fruition, but unsure how to make it happen? Are you saving pins to your Pinterest board without ever executing a vision? If design dilemmas and decision fatigue have you feeling down, you’re not alone, and I’ve got good news: I’ve created a brand new resource for you!

I’m thrilled to introduce my Digital Download Toolkits — thoughtfully prepared, ready-to-use guides that simplify the DIY design process. Whether you’re styling your space for the first time or refreshing a room that’s never quite come together, these kits were made to bring you clarity, confidence, and a complete cohesive space.

Let’s explore what these digital downloads include, how they work, and how they can help you make the most of your space.

What Are Digital Download Toolkits?

These toolkits are instant-access PDFs that provide professional design strategy in a DIY-friendly format. Think of them as your project launchpad: a clear roadmap for bringing a cohesive vision to life.

I’ve created two types of toolkits, depending on your needs: Design Toolkits and Layout Toolkits. Design Toolkits are style-driven guides that walk you through the look, feel, and furnishing of a thoughtfully curated space. They’re perfect for anyone craving a cohesive vibe with expert styling tips and product sourcing support. Of course, part of the design process includes planning the layout of your space, which you may already have in place. If you’d like user-friendly support for the layout process, that’s where Layout Toolkits come in! Layout Toolkits guide the floor planning process, complete with sample floor plans, scaled furnishing elements, and the ability to print-and-play or you can even drag-and-drop directly within Canva by accessing the included template. (You don’t need to purchase both types of toolkits; think of Layout Toolkits as a stand-alone product or as a supplement to Design Toolkits.)

Here’s a closer look at what’s inside each type of toolkit!

Inside a Design Toolkit

Each Design Toolkit is centered around a unique style and includes everything you need to bring that look to life in your own home. Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Cover Page
A visual preview of the style, with an inspiring first glimpse of what’s to come

  • Introduction Page
A greeting from Shay and a quick overview of the toolkit contents

  • Design Concept Page
A professionally curated vision board that reflects the vibe, materials, and finishes of the space. I like to think of this as the anchor of a cohesive design — throughout the design process, everything harks back to the design concept. It’s an absolutely essential step, and I’ve handled it for you entirely!

  • Color Palette Page
A harmonious set of colors to guide your paint selections, textiles, and decor. Pro tip: Find the designated paint swatches in store, and keep a keychain or envelope of your color scheme to have as reference whenever you need.

  • Sample Layout Page
A suggested room arrangement, maximizing function and flow of traffic with balance in mind. If you already have a room layout in mind, use that to guide your product selections (see the next page of the design toolkit!). If you’d like more guidance with this step of the design process, download the corresponding Layout Toolkit, or book a personalized floor planning service with us.

  • Shopping Portal Page

Your one-stop shop for curated products at exclusive designer rates! Simply add your selections and quantities to your cart, and you can checkout directly within the portal. There are multiple suggestions to consider, eg a sectional vs a sofa, so you can pick what’s best for your space. You can also upgrade to a personalized shopping list catered precisely to your floor plan and budget, or use the portal products as a guide to complete your own shopping.

  • Specific Design Tips Page
Expert styling suggestions for how to make the concept feel lived-in and complete — specific to this particular design.

  • Additional Design Tips Page

General design tips to help you make the most of any space!

These kits are perfect for renters, homeowners, or anyone who wants a leg up in the design process. Simply choose a look you love, download the toolkit, and fast-track your project to completion.

Inside a Layout Toolkit

Layout Toolkits are the perfect companion to Design Toolkits! While Design Toolkits guide you through turning a cohesive design concept into a completed space, Layout Toolkits focus on an essential step of the design process: space planning — determining furnishing arrangements, honoring function and flow of traffic, and fulfilling a balanced, complete space. You may already have a solid layout for your space, and if so, you can use that as a template for your project. Or, you might find that you’d like to refresh the layout entirely, and our Layout Toolkits provide step-by-step guidance to do just that. Each Layout Toolkit focuses on a particular space (e.g. living room, dining room, primary bedroom), or you can check out our bundles for even greater value.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Cover + Introduction
A greeting from Shay and an overview of what’s in the kit

  • Step-by-Step Guide

An easy-to-follow process for using your Layout Toolkit, one step at a time

  • Reference Grid

A grid for drawing your floor plan to scale, with instructions & tips for making the most of your space

  • Furnishing Library

A collection of scaled furnishing elements (furniture, accent pieces, decorative items) you can print and play with on your reference grid, or access the template in Canva for drag and drop features. Test out different room configurations, and once you’ve landed on a great layout for your functional needs, you’ll be well-equipped with measurements as you furnish your space. (In other words, rather than guessing whether that sofa will be a good fit for your space, you’ll know before you buy!)

  • Sample Layouts
Several possible layouts for the specific space of focus. For example, the Living Room Layout Toolkit includes multiple sample floor plans that might be directly transferrable to your own space. You can alter them to suit the dimensions of your space, or simply use them as inspiration!

  • Furniture Elements Library
A collection of scaled furniture cutouts you can either upload to Canva or print, cut, and play with to test different configurations. Try out a sectional and chair vs a sofa and set of two chairs, for example. See what best suits your room dimensions and functional goals, and you’ll feel more confident purchasing furniture, accents, and decor.

  • Floor-Planning Tips
Designer-backed layout guidance, including spacing considerations, traffic flow tips, and common oversights to keep in mind

Our Layout Toolkits are ideal for ensuring your design decisions will actually support the functional needs of the space, and they’ll help you avoid expensive mistakes like buying a sofa that eats up the entire room, overlooking room for an end table, or blocking important pathways. A solid layout will give you a bird’s eye view of the completed space before you buy — and when paired with a Design Toolkit, you’ll have everything you need to bring a beautiful, functional space to life.

How to Use the Toolkits

You can download the kits instantly and use them in a few different ways:

  • On screen (tablet, laptop, or phone)

  • Printed and pinned to your moodboard or fridge

  • Access layout templates in Canva, where you can digitally build your layout and configure furnishings

You can claim a concept you love, rearrange with confidence, shop the design, and make it all your own. And if you ever want to go deeper, these kits are a perfect starting point for 1:1 design support.

I hope these digital downloads bring a little more ease and excitement to your design process, and I can’t wait to see how you use them to create a space that feels just right for you. Tell us about your Design Toolkit or Layout Toolkit experience!

Sincerely,

Shay
